For all of us at CIEO, there is a heavy emphasis on improving teaching quality and the quality of our locations’ operations.  Each term Paul – GM for CIEO – and a team from head office go from location to location to perform onsite evaluations.  Our head office staff takes notes, offers suggestions and gives scores in a number of areas from teacher efficiency within our 8-point EFL teaching to environmental decorations.
For the second term of 2014 Paul’s team evaluated 7 locations around Guangdong province and every school put forth a fantastic effort. All of our schools did very well but every scoring system must produce a winner and this term’s winning school was Taojin Branch.

Taojin scored very high in all areas of the evaluation.  CIEO benchmarks, management’s understanding of CIEO systems and teaching performances at Taojin allowed them to come out ahead.  Management has done a fantastic job of training staff and drawing from everyone’s cooperation to improve teaching performances overall.  Taojin has also done a great job incorporating monthly themes with teaching to create an international feeling and arouse kids’ enthusiasm for learning.
Second place went to our Dongshan Branch.  Dongshan stands out for their dedication to phonetics and reading.  The reading system at Dongshan mobilizes kids to interact with families, at home, in English.  The library available to parents and students is very strong as well.  All of this together serves to help kids improve reading abilities, building upon the base of phonetic learning.
