Welcome to our character building, 100% English environment summer camp! Power Camp is a 7-day program over the summer, where we focus on helping to make your children stronger people, both academically and through teaching them how to be better people. Academically, we have 4 focuses that are taught throughout Power Camp, and all in English—Science and Arts, Sports, Life Skills, and Community Service. Beyond this, we are actually grouped together with a charity organization this year, whose job it is to come in and talk to your children about what THEY can do to make the world a better place!
A typical day at Power Camp has us marching and singing in the morning, followed by breakfast. After this, class begins! Depending on which day it is, and on which class your child is in, they could be doing anything from building a boat, to learning how to do CPR, to playing football, to learning how to help out around the local community, to swimming, to barbecuing, to…well, a lot more! We make it our focus at Power Camp to make sure your children are fully engaged throughout their entire trip. Beyond this, while they are out having fun and playing games, they are also working on their team-building skills. They are learning how to properly work with other people in a team, how to deal with conflict, how to work to make each member of the team stronger, and how to cope and recover from failure. The whole idea of this is that, not only are your kids having a blast playing and studying at our camp, but they are also being taught by their foreign and Chinese teachers how to be better people, not just individually, but when working on a team as well.
The biggest goal of this year’s Power Camp is in teaching children about how lucky they are. Typically, we tend to focus on showing them how grateful they should be to have such great parents, but this year, we are taking it a step further. We have invited the community service group Guangzhou Volunteers Union to participate with us in teaching your kids how to be better people. They will be working together with our foreign staff to deliver fun, interesting lessons to your children on how they can be better people and better help those around them.
We can’t wait to see you at Power Camp 2015!
