The Benefits of Mixed-Age Exercise
¡¡Hits£º17140¡¡AddTime£º2015-5-15 16:04:13

Early childhood is the best period for motor development and physical development in children. Effective physical activities to help develop children¡¯s sports skills and a variety of actions to enhance children's physique and physical fitness have been developed. A single physical activity will cause the children to gradually lose interest in participating in sports and therefore they will get inadequate exercise and physical development. In order to continuously improve and keep the interest of children in participation in sports activities, we do a mixed age workout during the morning exercise time.

We have divided the morning exercise mixed-age activities into different areas. These are the balance area, jumping area, throwing area, jogging area, rope area, and ball area. Each area is equipped with the appropriate sports equipment for each activity.  In the balance area there is the balance beam and stepping stones while in the jumping area there are shoebox¡¯s and milk cans that the children layout and jump over. In the throwing there are Frisbees and sandbags. Each area has a teacher responsible for the management of the equipment and to guide and instruct the children how to exercise and use the apparatus in each area.  Students who come to the kindergarten earlier in the morning, before classes start, are free to go to their favorite area to exercise and have fun.

What are the benefits of mixed-age activities?

A variety of exercise areas and equipment allows kids to circulate and play at each of the different areas. The level of play can be chosen to meet the actual needs of the individual child at different ages, different levels of ability and different interests.
Mixed-age activities break down the classroom age barrier; from small to big class they all mingle together meaning students can make friends with children from other class levels. This is helpful in developing abilities to interact with others and also their language skills.
In each of the different areas the same equipment can be used in different ways in order to vary the skill and difficulty level allowing kids to use the equipment regardless of their age, skills or abilities.
Offering this variety of exercise areas for the mixed-age activities helps the children to remain interested and motivates them to actively participate in all the different exercises.

We hope that our parents can encourage their children to come to the kindergarten earlier in the morning so that they can participate in our happy mixed-age activities. Not only is it fun but it will make your children healthier!
