Calgary kindergarten’s brave security guard, Zhou Hongdong (Brief introduction)

The morning of June 11, 2015, the security guard, Zhou Hongdong and Chen Min was on duties as usual; bringing the children into the kindergarten, greeting the parents and observing the surrounding vigilantly,

About 8:40am, Zhou Hongdong, he noticed a car door was opened and a suspicious man was rummaging through the car. Zhou Hongdong remains silent and as he got closer to the car, the man immediately rushed across the road to escape. Zhou Hongdong quickly catches up and gave a loud bellow. Zhou Hongdong pressed the man on the ground quickly. Security Chen Min, physical education teacher and art teacher, subsequently rushed to assist in the man's arrest. The man was taken into custody at kindergarten’s security office. They pressed the one button alarm device and at the same time, they notified the kindergarten’s security group. Subsequently, the Lanshi police station’s officers rushed over and then escort the thief back to the station. The car owner was contacted and they have counted the belongings in the car. The owner found out that the thief used a disruptor to interfere the key remote when he tried to lock the car. Due to the interference, the door was not locked.

It is later learned that thief is a drug addict, confessed to the facts of the crime and has received criminal detention. Later on, he will be punished by law.

On June 17, 2015, Lanshi police station sent a banner “Fulfill duty with loyalty and defend our safety.” Officers also gave highly praise of Zhou Hongdong’s bravery and resourceful action! Calgary kindergarten security group has also given merit recognition and award to Zhou Hongdong.
