Financial Business Education
Canadian International Educational Organizations (CIEO)
Recently, many CIEO schools took in charity plans, under the banner of CIEO’s representative Financial and Business Education Practice. This is a real deal with English financial education practice curriculum, enhancing children's sense of gratitude by working to develop their sense of social responsibility which, in turn, helps them comprehend the value of life and to learn to respect the power in social welfare.
From October 17 to October 20, Canadian Foreign Language School-Agile (CLS-A) held their third campus international trade festival. There were 25 shops on campus with a variety of merchandise on display, including food, clothing, daily necessities, books, specialty products, flowers, electronics, toys, photography and creative services. The most fantastic posters were dazzling; the little salesmen speaking fluent English were very diligent; close friends and family customers shuttle between the corridor and the hall excitedly lingering at times. Children in real market stalls, boldly calling out for buying and selling, experienced the currency trading process, and improved English oral communication, mathematical operations, logical judgment and psychological adaptability. Some children even thought to buy souvenirs for dear parents and favorite teachers in addition to shopping for themselves. These scenes were very touching. After a four-day charity sale, the event raised a total of 51344.9 yuan which was donated to the “Guangdong Educational Development Foundation" (CIEO’s non-public fund approved by the Department of Civil Affairs for Guangdong Province), to support the education and growth of needy children.

The energetic little shopkeepers found the event meaningful by being able to use what they have left behind to lovingly help people in need.

They not only made two-dimensional payment codes, chose their own business projects and the name of their shop, but also visited to the "industrial and commercial bureau" of the family Committee for registration and obtaining a business license. While raising money, the children sold a really diverse range of products. In addition, Annie and Matthew from class three also used their birthday party to call the children in class to donate 3000 yuan from their personal savings. After two days of efforts from teachers and students, parents, Calgary kindergarten helped Zihan Tang, a four-year-old leukemia patient, with a total donation of 57027.775 yuan, which was transferred to Tang Zihan parents’ account through the “Guangdong Educational Development Foundation".
