Britannia International School (BIS) is a member school of the Canadian International Educational Organisation (CIEO).  

BIS is a non-profit, co-educational international school in Guangzhou China which offers The British National Curriculum. It has an Early Years Section for children aged 3 – 5 years old, a Primary Section catering for Years 1 – 6 inclusive i.e. 5 to 11 year olds, and Middle School Section for Year 7-9 students, i.e. 11 to 14 year olds.

From age 11 upwards, it will eventually offer the Cambridge International Board General Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (Cambridge International IGCSEs) to year 11 students, i.e.16 year olds.

It is anticipated in future years to be offering Cambridge University Board Advanced Level Examinations.  

BIS is located on Jinshazhou Island [Gam Saa Zau] in the Baiyun District. The school campus is extensive with ample, fitted-out classroom space which currently includes a Music and Dance facility a Library and Information Centre, an Art room, a Makerspace/idea lab, laboratory facilities, a football pitch and playing areas, and there is also work in progress on basketball court.

In addition to gaining academic skills and knowledgeit is important that each student will build self-confidence,develop self-reliance, learn to make decisions and develop the ability to articulate feelings and ideas and be receptive to the feelings, opinions,ideas of others.

BIS will at all times work towards fulfilling the needs of its international students by way of getting them to understand and recognize the past and its traditions but at the same time using these to ensure they have all that is necessary to play their part as global citizens in a world which is scientifically and technologically constantly changing.
