On October 16th 2015, Canadian Foreign Language school (Agile branch) plays host to the Panyu district’s private school education meeting. Attending were principles, school directors and representatives from private schools in Panyu district.
The meeting starts off with Ms Dai, head of Panyu’s ministry of education foundation department, as she gave an in-depth report, analysis and the future development plans for the school in Panyu. She pinpointed the importance for private schools to have their own identity, to be unique and creative. On this point, she praised our school for our philosophy, school environment, mind mapping introductions and also said that our school was beautifully designed which gives the students a reason to love.
Next, Ms Dai suggested that for educational thinking and implementations, one should: actively take part in research, actively promote the school reputation, prepare a five year plan with set direction and also form multiple committees to enhance problem solving.
Ms Dai was direct and to the point and got the acknowledgment of all participating peers. During the break, everyone got a taste of the western pastries and deserts on offer. Apart from the library, calligraphy room and multi-functional rooms, principals and teachers took this opportunity to listen in on some lessons by CLS-A.

After a tour of the school, the meeting proceeded to part two by Mr. Jiang, director of the foundation and research centre of Guangdong province. He started by empowering the idea that the best schools often has the best cultural background, using poems, literature quotes, he further highlighted the importance of culture within any school. He believed that the soul of the school is often based on its interest class, activities and its surrounding. Combining the three is key for the making of a great school. He also said that a school’s philosophy is important for its placement and direction using the example of Panyu experimental secondary school’s data to present the argument. Lastly, using Harford as a successful institution example to further reinforce the idea that with good culture, it would surely produce an excellent educational system.
With a loud round of applauds, the meeting concluded. From this meeting, one can see the amount of support the ministry of education is giving to private school, from this; everyone is able to see what a success the meeting has been. All who attended got valuable experience, taking these ideas and ideals back, one is able to better develop our school.
